Eisteddfod 2016

On Friday the 4th of March pupils of St. Francis School celebrated Welsh week by hosting their very own Eisteddfod. Pupils wore Welsh costumes into school and spent the morning in the hall singing welsh songs, reciting welsh poems and sharing art work based on the Urdd theme “belonging”. Each poem, recital and art work entered was judged by students of the Welsh Council with each of the winning entries receiving points for their house. It was a very close competition with St. Clears house winning over all. Several of the children who recited Welsh poetry went on to compete in the county Eisteddfod held in Tenby Infant School on Monday the 7th of March. We are very proud of everyone who took

World Book Day 2016

World Book Day 2016 Pupils and staff from St Francis School in Milford Haven celebrated World Book Day this week (Thursday 3rd March) by dressing up as their favourite literary characters. Each class had a chosen theme with reception class celebrating 150 years of Beatrix Potter, Years 1&2 dressed up as characters from Julia Donaldson books, Year 3 costumes had a Horrid Henry theme, Year 4 and 5 dressed as charactersfrom David Walliams novels and Year 6 went back in time as figures from the Horrible Histories collection. The children spent the morning learning about different authors, playing literary games and creating their own factual quizzes about their chosen books.
