Our School Sports Ambassadors
We have six Sports Ambassadors that take on a leadership role in developing sports in our school. Two of these pupils are from year 5 and four from year 6. They have had many training sessions on how to be a Sports Ambassadors which have provided them with a range of activities and skills and how to deliver sessions to others. These six pupils all have a talent for sport and are extremely committed to the clubs they organise for other pupils across the school. Their role is to promote participation in different kinds of sport and to be positive role models to pupils of all ages in our school which they are all passionate in accomplishing.
In addition to the lunch time clubs the Sports Ambassadors have run, they are now part of our ‘Siwpyr Criw’ which also consists of our current 'Y Cyngor Cymraeg’. These pupils organise a break time club for both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 which support the development of both physical and Welsh language skills. These pupils work together using their strengths to support others in a leadership role.
Furthermore, our year 5 pupils have also been trained as ‘Buddies’ to support the work of our Sports Ambassadors.
